Soccer Camp Pics

Cooling off...

Well, the a/c is up and running again. Hopefully that will be the last repair of the season! It's amazing how accustomed we are to a/c...granted, it is 90+ every day, and humid, but we had summer days like that in NY, and we survived with no a/c.

On another note, the boys started soccer camp yesterday. There was a bad thunderstorm right before it was scheduled to begin, and we thought the first day would be cancelled, but thankfully the clouds broke, and it was actually cooler since the bottom had fallen out of the sky. I forgot my camera, but I'll be ready tonight for some great shots. This is the first year Jonathan is old enough to go to camp, and play for the league, so he is beside himself with excitment. Yesterday, I went back to be after making breakfast/lunch for Luis, and I slept in until 10AM. (The boys are so good about waking up, and just playing quietly until I crawl out of bed.) When I went out to the living room, Jonathan already had his shorts, shin guards and soccer socks on. Mind you, soccer camp doesn't start until 6PM each night. I am so glad there are activities in the community for the boys to do. Being homeschooled, they really miss having interaction with other kids, but between soccer and baseball, they are practically playing sports year round. Well, I'm off to make supper and get the kiddos ready.

Pork, anyone??

I am sweating like a pig!! Our air conditioner stopped working again, and the humidity is terrible! The a/c guy came out on Tuesday, and it was working great, until we got home from our crazy day yesterday and I noticed that the air coming from the vents was warm. We have fans going all over the house...moving hot air from room to room. The boys are handling it nicely. I, on the other hand, equipped with my natural heater (Lily) am not doing so well. I hate to be hot. Luis and I are like my Mom and Dad...she likes it cool, Dad likes it warm. At night, I always have a fan going, in addition to the a/c. Poor Luis freezes, and usually sleeps with his San Marcos blanket even in the summer. I am usually not a complainer, as most of you know, but today is an exceptional complaining day! BLAH! Hope the a/c guy can come today, otherwise, it'll be at least Monday. Can all you Northerners blow some cool air this way?? Thanks!

Overload...

Today, I foolishly jammed packed our day. Listen to this list...

Took the trash to the dump
Went to the bank
Mailed blueberries to NY at the Post Office
Went to the insurance office
Went to the county tax auditor's office to pay property taxes
Took the kids to a play (Aladdin) at the local public library
Went to the DMV

I should have stopped after the play at the library. Jonathan yawning several times should have clued me in that he was tired, but the thought of doing more errands tomorrow was unbearable...so...off to the DMV we went. Why is it, when kids are overtired, they become loud and whiny?? Why don't they just shut down, and quiet down? Yesterday, at the midwife, I was told how well behaved my kids were...they were so quiet and obedient. Well, if she could have seen my littlest "angel" today, she would be thinking "What the heck is wrong with that child, and why can't that mother control him!?!" Just a little dose of reality to keep my proud Mama ego in check I guess. Anyway, after quite a show from Jonathan (who is usually my easy going, laid back one), I managed to escape from the DMV with the license plates for Luis's truck. He owes me BIG TIME! haha

Little Lily

Well, maybe not so little...I had another appointment today, and the midwife estimated (from feeling around Lily) that she's probably going to weigh closer to Jonathan's birth weight than Joshua's...that means closer to 9 pound than 7.5....good thing I have those Kellish hips! LOL Still feeling pretty good, and my blood pressure is still at a good level, so that's an answer to prayer! I am hoping for a completely normal (no induction), natural (no meds) birth, so every good appointment is a step in the right direction! With Josh, I was induced, and had an epidural, which made the whole birth process longer, and with Jonathan, I was induced, but had no anesthesia or pain meds and did much better, time wise. We'll see how Lily decides to act. She is quite active, kicking and moving all the time. I never cease to be amazed how God places life inside a woman...such a miracle! Josh told me the other day that he was glad that ladies have babies, and not men. I chuckled to myself...thinking about how most men handle having even a simple cold...yup, God in all his wisdom knows what's best! We had a special delivery the other day from a sweetheart from church. She brought over a swing for Lily, complete with pink everything! We are so blessed to have been given many things for Lily...big things (like cribs and such) that we won't need to purchase. I still can't picture myself with a girl...after living in an all male home for the last 13 years. It will be a nice change, I do believe.
